Paper Submission and Reviewing
The manuscripts of size 6 – 30 pages written in Ukrainian or English are tooken to consideration. These articles were not published before and aren’t given to publish into other publications.
The manuscript is submitted to editorial office in printed form and on an electronic version (Microsoft Word). The manuscript have to be get up according to Submission requirments (see Submission requirements).
The authors have to observe the Ethics that Editorial board is following (see Publishing ethics).
Publishing articles in the scientific-technical Collection "Strength of Materials and Theory of Structures" is free of charge.
The journal “Strength of Materials and Theory of Structures” conducts independent peer review.
Review type: single-blind — reviewers know the authors’ identities, while authors do not know the reviewers.
Reviewing according to DORA principles
According to the main idea of DORA, reviewers are advised to evaluate the quality of the manuscript based on the real scientific contribution. A scientific article should be evaluated based on the quality of the idea, the chosen methodology, and the contribution to science and society. The evaluation should be open, understandable, and fair. When evaluating the manuscript, reviewer should highlight the following aspects:
Novelty: Is the research question original and well defined? Do the results advance the current knowledge?
Scope: Does the manuscript fit the Collection scope ?
Significance: Are the results interpreted appropriately? Are they significant? Are all conclusions justified and supported by the results?
Quality: Is the article written in an appropriate way? Are the data and analyses presented effectively?
Interest to Readers: Will the conclusions engage the journal readers? Will the paper attract a wide readership or be of interest only to a limited number of people?
Language Level: Is the language appropriate and understandable?
A Reviewer should provide an overall recommendation regarding the manuscript: accept it in present form, or reconsider after minor or major revision, or reject. The recommendations are only visible to Collection Editors, not to the authors. Decisions on revision, acceptance, or rejection must always be well justified.
However, the final decision on acceptance of the manuscript rests with the Editor.
The peer review process ensures objectivity, transparency, and adherence to ethical standards in scientific publishing. The editorial board makes decisions on publication or on making corrections to the manuscript based on evaluations by independent experts regarding scientific novelty, methodological accuracy, reliability of results, and quality of presentation.
A request for manuscript revision does not imply acceptance; after revisions are made, the manuscript is reviewed again.
